Landscapers might be hired to transform a space, integrating both plant life and hardscape elements to achieve a desired aesthetic or functional outcome.

In terms of scale, gardening can be as small as a single flower bed or as large as a sprawling vegetable garden. Landscaping, however, often refers to larger, more comprehensive projects that cover entire yards or outdoor areas and might include significant alterations to the land and its features.

Environmental impact is another aspect where both activities can overlap yet diverge in intentions and outcomes. Gardeners might focus on sustainability through the choice of plants and natural gardening practices, whereas landscapers might implement broader ecosystem-supporting features like rain gardens or native plant areas to address environmental concerns on a larger scale.
