Navy Seals vs. Delta Force — What's the Difference?

The Navy SEALs, established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962, are the United States Navy's principal special operations force. They are trained for operations that originate primarily from water, such as sea, river, or ocean, and are renowned for their maritime capabilities. Delta Force, officially known as 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D), is an elite component of the United States Army's Joint Special Operations Command. Navy SEALs undergo one of the toughest training regimens in the U.S. military, known as Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training.
