Prerequisite vs. Corequisite — What's the Difference?

A prerequisite is a requirement that must be fulfilled before a particular course or activity can be started. It is often a course that provides foundational knowledge necessary to succeed in more advanced studies. On the other hand, a corequisite is a condition or course that needs to be taken at the same time as another course, often because the subjects are interconnected or one supports the understanding of the other.
